New ‘Sesame Street’ Theme Park To Be Sensory Friendly
A new theme park designed to bring the iconic show “Sesame Street” to life will have a host of accommodations in place to welcome children with disabilities when it opens soon. Sesame Place San Diego will be designated a Certified Autism Center when it opens to the public March 26, officials said.
Morningstar Access on first Saturday of every month from 8-10am.
The specific dates and types of sessions are:
Mask Exceptions Considered All staff and visitors ages 2 and older are required to wear masks. However, mask exceptions will be considered in advance at registration for children who have sensory needs or other types of needs that prevent them from keeping their masks on.
Saturday, April 2, 2022, 8:00-10:00am
All Masks On! All staff and visitors ages 2 and older are required to wear masks. This session happens when the Museum is freshly cleaned with no visitors prior to the scheduled time. No mask exceptions will be considered. Families with any needs are welcome as long as they can follow this strict mask rule, which is in place to create a medically safer environment.

Portuguese Speaking Families are invited to join our monthly virtual support group to meet new families and share the joys and challenging of raising a child on the autism spectrum and learn about the latest autism information and resources. This group is led by the Autism Alliance Parent/Professional team members and guests.
