Autism Alliance partners with Michael and Sandra Anastasi, Founders of  Spectrum for Hope Foundation

Spectrum for Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization that launched in spring of 2017. They are dedicated to improving the quality of life for families with multiple children with special needs. In May of 2017, they had their first grant cycle, distributing almost $70,000 in grants and respite funding to 56 Massachusetts families.

Spectrum for Hope partnered with The Autism Alliance, and in November of 2017 we allocated respite funding to 18 families throughout Massachusetts. Funding ranged from $500 - $3,000 per family to help pay for respite support at home for their children during medical appointments, vacations, date nights, self-care, weddings, work, etc. Families were very appreciative to have the funding and were able to, in most cases, use an already existing and familiar respite provider.

On November 4th, more than 100 people attended a recipient luncheon. We were able to meet several of the families we supported through the grant and talk with folks firsthand about their experiences. The room was filled with lots of beautiful sounds and grace, as we were able to bring everyone together to share in the joys of raising multiple children with special needs. Watch the Recipient Luncheon video here.

We would like to thank the Spectrum for Hope Foundation for partnering with The Autism Alliance for this first grant initiative. To learn more about Spectrum for Hope Foundation, and to join their mailing list, please visit their website.
